The file tagging software

What is TaguTagu?

TaguTagu presents you with the easiest way to organize your files by adding tags to them. By using tags you can keep track of a huge number of files in the way that's most convenient to you.

What are "tags"?

Tags are strings of letters that have a meaning to you. They don't have to have a meaning to the computer, or possibly to other people - they are your personal choice and you should choose them in a way you can easily remember. Tags are usually short words that describe what is in the file, but they don't have to be. You can just as easily use numbers or combinations of many words stringed together (without a space between them) - there's no limit in what you can use, and files can have multiple tags.

For example, you can attach the words "cat" and "nikki" to pictures of your cat Nikki, or "autumn2006" to files in your collection of essays written during autumn 2006. This way, you can later easily find every file you've tagged with a particular tag (or a combination of tags). For more examples of using tags you can see the Wikipedia article on tags.
